Lighting Plan Review, Explained

virtual consolation

Your builder’s drawings are done. The electrician is booked. But somewhere in those plans, the lighting was decided by someone whose real job is something else — and once the walls close, every mistake becomes expensive. The Lighting Plan Review exists for exactly this moment: an Iluce specialist checks your existing plan before you build or buy.

What we check

We go through your plan the way we would build one of our own. Fixture selection — are the specified fixtures right for each room, and do they work together? Placement — is light coming from where the room actually needs it? Light levels — enough where you work and read, not so much that evenings feel harsh. Dimming and controls — will the fixtures dim properly, and are the switches where your hand expects them? You receive clear written notes on all of it, plus one follow-up call or email round to go through the notes together and answer your questions.

What it is — and what it is not

A review is not a redesign. We do not produce a new layout; we tell you precisely what to fix in the one you have, while fixing it is still a conversation instead of a demolition. If your plan turns out to need more than notes, we will say so plainly — and a custom lighting plan is the natural next step.

Price and timing

The review costs $0.75 per square foot, based on the area covered by your plan: a 1,000 sq ft home is $750. Projects over 5,000 sq ft are quoted individually — contact us for a custom price.
Turnaround is 5 to 10 business days once we have your complete plan and information.
Measured against the cost of reopening a ceiling or replacing fixtures that never suited the room,
it is the cheapest insurance on the project.

When to send it

The best moment is when the drawings are complete but nothing is ordered and no wire has been pulled — changes are still pencil, not drywall. The second-best moment is now, at whatever stage you have reached: most findings can still be corrected mid-project for a fraction of what they would cost after the fact. If the electrician starts Monday, send the plan today.
